SSDI is an earned benefit. You need to have a work history (including reported income) of a least 40 quarters (10 years). The monetary benefit is capped at $2200 per month. SSDI includes Medicare.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI): If you are disabled and unable to work, but do not have a work history of 40 quarters, you may be eligible for SSI. SSI is capped at $700 per month and includes Medicaid in New Hampshire and Massachusetts Health in Massachusetts.
